Meet The Team: Rose Davie

We’d like to introduce you to another brilliant member of the Ebbon Intelligence team: Rose Davie, our Commercial Product Lead. Rather than us telling you all about her, we let Ralph sit down for a chat.

Ralph: [beeps excitedly] Rose Davie! Our new Commercial Product Lead and, I’m delighted to report, another addition to the non-facial-hair contingent. Welcome aboard. Tell me, what exactly is it that you do?

Rose: Thanks, Ralph! I’ve spent my career in product management, working across commercial strategy and product development. I love building things that genuinely work for people and solve real problems. At Ebbon Intelligence, I’ll be helping to make sure we’re building the right things, for the right reasons, with clear objectives and measurable outcomes.

Ralph: [approving hum] A sensible approach. Even I appreciate the occasional reality check. What attracted you to the role?

Rose: Timing played a big part. The business is at a really exciting stage where there’s genuine scope to influence direction and help shape what comes next. The combination of automotive, data intelligence, robotics, and emerging technology felt incredibly forward-thinking. It’s not often you get the chance to join something this early and make a meaningful difference.

Ralph: [whirrs thoughtfully] I like the sound of that. You’ve also spent quite a bit of time in automotive, haven’t you?

Rose: Yes, around ten years. I’ve worked for an automotive lease provider across a variety of leasing and technology products, including telematics and vehicle remarketing. It’s given me a good understanding of the challenges businesses face and where technology can genuinely help.

Ralph: [tilts rotors in curiosity] Speaking of helping, I hear you’ve worked on some rather clever projects yourself.

Rose: One that stands out was developing accident alert technology using telematics data. When a collision occurred, the system could automatically notify emergency services, customers, and line managers. What I loved about it was that it helped people at exactly the moment they needed support, without creating extra work for them. That’s probably the project I’m most proud of.

Ralph: [soft appreciative buzz] Now you’re talking my language. Technology doing useful things, without making life more complicated.

Rose: Exactly. The best technology often isn’t the flashiest. It’s the technology that removes friction, creates efficiencies, and improves day-to-day life. Small improvements can have a surprisingly big impact when they’re solving the right problems.

Ralph: That’s a good point. I’ve always believed making life easier is a worthy ambition. What are your thoughts on the automotive market at the moment?

Rose: It’s a fascinating time. We’ve seen huge changes in recent years with electric vehicles, new manufacturers entering the market, and customer expectations evolving rapidly. What’s interesting is that technology which felt groundbreaking ten years ago is now considered standard. Customers are increasingly comfortable with new technology and eager to embrace it. In many cases, their appetite is moving faster than the technology itself. That creates a great opportunity for businesses that can solve genuine customer problems.

Ralph: [beeps in amusement] That’s a very diplomatic way of saying people always want the next thing immediately.

Rose: [laughs] More or less!

Ralph: Let’s move away from work for a moment. I understand you have two young daughters. Do you actually have any free time?

Rose: Some! Although it can feel like a luxury. I do CrossFit and Pilates a couple of times a week, which helps keep me sane-ish. I also love getting out with our chocolate Labrador, Rolo, and walking on the beach. Anything that gets me moving, really.

Ralph: [buzzes energetically] Beach walks with a trusty sidekick sound great, can I come too? Maybe I could do a seaside photoshoot for Rolo…

Rose: [laughs] I’m not sure that’d work Ralph, unlike parked cars Labradors aren’t always great at staying put and I’m not sure what the sand would do to your circuits!

Ralph: Fair enough. Final question, I hear you have a fun fact that may be difficult for the rest of us to compete with.

Rose: I once swam with whale sharks. They’re incredible creatures. They move surprisingly quickly and we were in the water with them at incredibly close range. It was an amazing experience.

Ralph: [fans whirring to cool circuits] Right…well, that’s going to be difficult to top! I’ve flown around some pretty cool cars, but it doesn’t quite compare.

Rose: [laughs]

Ralph: One last thing. If you could have any vehicle at all, what would it be and why?

Rose: Honestly? I’d choose a fully autonomous car from the future. I drive a lot of miles, and the idea of being able to sit back while the car does the work sounds wonderful. I don’t think we’re all that far away from it, either.

Ralph: [optimistic hum] Always looking to stay ahead of the curve, a woman after my own heart. Rose, it’s been a pleasure. Between your automotive experience, product expertise, and apparent willingness to swim with creatures larger than most family hatchbacks, I think you’re going to fit in just fine. Welcome to the team!

Thanks, Ralph and Rose, insightful and entertaining as ever.
